Banana Republic
From 1998 to 2004, I began my career as an assistant designer and quickly moved up to a director role. Spending 4 years designing and managing men’s knitwear and consequently moving to men’s woven product for the latter 3 years, I became a well rounded designer touching nearly all apparel categories. With my ability to innovate and complete projects with precision to detail, I was consistently assigned to lead new projects and businesses that needed reinvention, i.e. the development and relaunch of men’s denim and underwear lines. In the relaunch of men’s denim product in Fall 2003, I spearheaded the design and development of fits, washes, and internal/external details. The revamped new denim business generated sales of $30 million in 2004, which was up 43% from 2002.
